Whistle Blowing
Accordingly, the Board of Directors of EDP Renováveis decided to offer their employees a communication channel for the transmission, direct and confidential, of any presumably illegal practice of any alleged accounting and/or financial irregularity occurring in the company. This communication addressed to the Commission of Audit and Control.
The creation of by EDP Renovavéis of this channel to communicate irregular accounting and financial practices pretends:
- Ensure the existence of conditions which allows employees the conditions to freely communicate their concerns on these areas to the Audit and Control Commission;
- Anticipate the detection of irregularities that, if were to be done, could represent serious damages to EDP Renováveis Group, its employees, clients and shareholders.
The contact with the Audit and Control Commission can only be done through email and mail, being the access to that information strictly limited.
Any complaint or indictment to the Audit and Control Commission will be treated as strictly confidential information. The whistle-blower's identity will not be disclosed as long as that condition does not compromise the investigation process. EDP Renováveis ensures that the employees that disclose irregularities, provide information or cooperate within an investigation process, will not suffer any retaliatory or disciplinary act.
